How would you describe yourself?
I am a hard working mother of 3. I am driven to get the mission of Damsel out to women and the more we can reach, the more successful I feel. I am not talking about the money, I am talking about the message. YOU are WORTH protecting!
How long have you been involved in your business?
Since September 2013.
What keeps you motivated?
The mission of Damsel in Defense. Equip, Empower, Educate. I am not a salesperson, but with Damsel, I feel like I am making a difference helping to keep families safe and give them the tools and knowledge to get out of bad situations.
Tell us a little about your family.
I am a happily married mother with one adult daughter, one middle schooler and one in elementary school.
How do you prioritize family and your business?
Family comes first…unless Momma has a scheduled event. My youngest loves it so much that she says she wants to be a “Damsel Pro” when she grows up. I call her my mini Damsel. My family is completely supportive of my business because they understand the purpose and the mission. They even sometimes work events with me.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
As a Diamond Director with Damsel in Defense. I want to help guide other women to find the satisfaction in helping women that I am finding myself. I have never enjoyed my work as much as I enjoy Damsel. It feeds my soul in so many ways.
Biggest life lesson learned?
You don’t have to live in fear if you learn to live alert and prepared. Always view your mission as serving others and your heart will be full…that is true success.
Biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
Always view your mission as serving others and your heart will be full…that is true success.
What is your secret to success?
Find a business and a product that really fires you up. Something you can believe in and that gives you an emotional satisfaction not just financial security. Do what you are passionate about and let that passion shine through.
All Entrepreneurs encounter bad days. How do you handle yours?
Remember another opportunity is just a doorknob turn, a phone call, or a chance meeting away. We are always planting seeds. You never know where your next “starfish” will come from.
What was your sweetest success story?
There have been many now. I donated some of our tools to our local domestic violence shelter. To get a call 2 weeks later and hear that the use of our tools saved a woman and her children from her abusive husband and finally got him put behind bars. That let me know I was on the right journey.
How do you relax?
By playing with my family and Bunco with the ladies.
Do you send out a monthly newsletter?
Yes. We also host a free women’s self-defense class once a month.
