How long have you been involved in your business?
Why did you decide to start your business?
I went to an Origami Owl party about a year ago and fell in love with the product and the story behind it.
What keeps you motivated?
Loving what I do and meeting new people all the time. Wanting to work for myself one day soon. Having a flexible schedule to do what I want.
Tell us a little about your family.
I am married to a contractor that owns his own company, my son is a junior at YLHS, and is getting his private pilots license.
How do you prioritize family and your business?
It can be challenging to manage both at times, but I try to give equal time to borth when I can. I touch my business every day no matter what is going on. Majority of the time we eat dinner as a family at home.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Retired from my full time job, but still doing my two side businesses. Making enough money with them to live comfortably.
Biggest life lesson learned?
Live every day to its fullest as you don’t know what the future holds.
Biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
It takes a lot of time and money to make a business successful, but your efforts will pay off.
What is your secret to success?
I don’t know if I really have one at this point, I am still learning from other people and myself.
What was your sweetest success story?
Try to see the good in things even when they may not be. Resolve the problem with a good solution. I am not saying I don’t get stressed because I do for sure. I am just trying to handle it better these days.
How do you relax?
Watching my favorite TV shows, and hanging out with my husband and son.
What are your most popular products?
Well that is hard to say as all of the jewelry is popular, but if I had to pick it would be the Silver lockets and chains.
What are your favorite business tools? What business apps, products and tools do you use daily to run business/life efficiently? What could you not function without?
Publisher, excel, my website, word, email, and facebook. I could not function without facebook and email. I am big on communication.
Any advice you have for other moms who want to start their own business?
Look for something that you are passionate about and find a way to get it started.
